Nokia E72 is available!

November 17, 2009

Nokia E72 is out for sale and as an E71 user for more than one year, it’s time to consider an upgrade.

But I am still content with my trusty E71. It’s still an amazing device! E72 offers nothing outstanding also.

So, for now I am planning to stick to E71 and wait for the next upgraded release in this line. The smartphone market is changing fast and Nokia is loosing its command. So, I think, and hope too, that Nokia will do its best to regain is command and will offer the best in coming days. And as consumer, it will be a party time for us!

Meamo and android are the two platforms which are drawing much attention too! I’m eyeing on those spheres also.

Finally, I think it will be wise for me to wait for a couple of more months before deciding an upgrade! And lastly, my Nokia E71 is still the most amazing device which keeps me more or less satisfied till date!

Nokia E71 firmware v300. Updated.

November 8, 2009

For last couple of weeks I was thinking of updating my Nokia E71 with the latest firmware available, i.e v300.

Finally I took my E71 to the nearest Nokia Care centre and got the firmware updated.

There no major noticeable addition or improvements. But camera performance has improved a bit. Photos look better now. The native browser is also functioning better. And there is better integration of the native browser with native mailing system, and with Opera Mini.

Facebook, My Space and Youtube widgets are Preinstalled with the firmware but that’s no big deal. As anyone can get it separately from cloud.

No added theme, or features we got from this upgrade!

Waiting for a real update in v400! Wake up Nokia!

Nokia E71 vs E63: keypad, typing speed

October 7, 2009

Today I got a chance to play with a Nokia E 63 for a while. With my utter surprise I discovered that typing in E63 is a bit more easy, faster, and more pleasant, than with my E71!!

I Consider smartphones a very capable device and generally use my E71 as laptop substitute ! So typing ease, speed and pleasure are very important criteria for me!

Actually I was not 100% satisfied with the key board of E71, and wished that it should improve more to give ultimate typing speed and ease. Now I happily ( and sadly too! :-) discovered that E63 keypad is better. I felt sad as my E71 lacks that better keypad; and felt happy as I realised that Nokia Engineers are still capable of bettering the design of E71. So I can hope that my next mobile device ( may be E72 or its next upgrade! ) will be a more capable device for typing speed, ease And pleasure.
